THE AWARD WINNING
The event where you get a chance to experience what it is like to run without sight, whilst supporting local charity.
Original idea by Colm 'Bootsy' Fearon in 2015, Running Blind is intended to raise awareness of visually impaired running through a fun event that also challenges entrants.
By popular demand, we have separate 5k and 10k courses - each is multi-surface, and suitable for runners of all abilities.
Sponsored by Heartsine, ALL proceeds from this event go to local charity
(Reg charity NIC 103126)
- a small NI charity supporting children with visual impairment
Where else to stage this event than the iconic Stormont Estate, Belfast
2018 is our third presentation of Running Blind at Stormont. The organisers are very grateful to the Estate Management Team who kindly permit us to utilise this scenic venue.
One question we are asked each year:
'Are we running up the big hill?'
We DID run up there the first time, however we have made the course more interesting and challenging since then, and we do NOT run up the big hill!
Instead we give you twists, turns, road, gravel path, woodland, and (for the 10k) trails and undualtion!
Choice of TWO routes, 5k for all or the 10k to really test yourself!
Save the date!
OCTOBER 5TH 2019
Aware that there are sure to be other events on the same day, we try our best to accomodate as many folks as possible, as well as allow for those travelling from afar.
There is FREE parking for up to 400 cars at Stormont, as well as excellent public transport via Translink.
The 5k course is suitable for families, including buggies. Dogs are also welcome but MUST be kept on a short lead.
The 10k course is more challenging, with steeper undulation and mostly trail paths.
NOT suitable for buggies
Running Blind 2019 will open for entry shortly
- watch this space!
The organisers of RUNNING BLIND are very grateful to our primary sponsor Heartsine, a member of the Stryker Group, for their generous sponsorship of this event.
